When Silence speaks

Marius Buculei

Welcome

I’m Marius Buculei – a mechanical design engineer, photographer, and perpetual learner navigating the beautiful intersection of precision and creativity.

For nearly two decades, I’ve called the UK home, although my roots run deep in Romanian soil, where I spent my formative years. That journey shaped how I see the world: as someone who values both the technical rigour of engineering and the boundless freedom of artistic expression.

Through the Lens

Photography is where I find my truest voice. Whether I’m capturing the quiet resilience of nature, the raw poetry of street life, or the subtle stories etched in a portrait, I’m always searching for that singular moment when light, emotion, and form converge. The camera has taught me to observe—to really see—the world with fresh eyes every day.

Words & Wanderings

When I’m not behind a camera or at a computer, you’ll find me lost in books—philosophy that challenges, literature that moves, art that mystifies. I confess I’m still a student of art history, hungry to understand the masters and movements that continue to shape our visual language. Sometimes my own thoughts spill onto the page as prose or poetry, fragments of feeling that need a shape beyond the images I capture.

Building & Learning

This website itself is an experiment, a digital workshop where I’m learning web design by doing. It’s imperfect, evolving—much like the creative journey itself. I’m drawn to the idea that we can build our own spaces in this digital landscape, spaces that reflect who we are rather than fitting into someone else’s template.

Thank you for stopping by. I’d love to hear your thoughts, your stories, or simply know that these words and images resonated with you in some small way.

Let’s connect.

The Clinic

The Clinic Please sit here on the bench, I will bring you the number for the consultation shortly, and when your turn comes, the professor will call you into the office. Waiting can sometimes be suspended above us, tied to us with something rigid, like the toilet float. Then we wait for someone to trigger the mechanism that will drain all that waiting over our heads, trickling over our eyes, arms, and chest, inside and out, to announce that it is time to slide into the unexpected and to completely forget, in the next moment, about suspension, rigidity, and the float. Other times, waiting is jagged, angular, and damp,…
